~Beans~
2 cups dried beans
(Black, Pinto, Azuki, Northern, etc.),
washed and soaked overnight
1 strip kombu (sea vegetable)
5 cups water
Salt
Bring beans and kombu to a boil and simmer for 1 1/2 hours or longer, depending
on size of beans. When beans become soft, then add salt and any other seasonings
and simmer 20 minutes longer.
